FISHING RULES (01/11)


Whilst fishing on the water controlled by the Association, Members (for the purpose of clarity and simplicity the term Member will also include Hon. Member unless stated otherwise) and Guest Members must abide by the following rules.

1. Tickets should be presented for inspection to any Member of the Association when demanded.

2. Before issuing Guest Tickets, Members are requested to complete in ink their name, the name and address of their guest and then sign the ticket.

Guests Members must complete the day and date for which the ticket is available in ink before commencing to fish.

3.  No person shall commit wilful damage to the banks and fences of the river or to crops adjoining.

4.  The only bait allowed on the river is artificial fly. The use of barbless hooks is preferred.

5. The close seasons for fishing shall be in accordance with those defined by
the Environment Agency.

6. Every form of Poaching shall be suppressed by all practicable means and offenders prosecuted at the expense of the Association. The Committee should have power from time to time to offer rewards for the apprehension of Poachers, to be paid on Conviction and to take such other legal measures for the protection of the Fishery.

7.  No trout be killed less than NINE inches in length; that no migratory trout be killed less than TWELVE inches in length.
8. The number of fish killed in one day by Members should not exceed 4
. For conservation reasons Members are asked only to kill stock fish.

Guest Members may only kill up to two fish in one day and only stock fish.

9. The hours of fishing available to Members of the Association are not be restricted. Guest Members may not commence fishing before 7.00 a.m. nor continue after 11.00 p.m.
